According to LinkedIn.com, LinkedIn “operates the world’s largest professional network on the Internet with more than 400 million members in over 200 countries and territories.” If you are on LinkedIn then you know by now that putting up a profile picture can make a difference in your networking or job search. This is because people or recruiters in particular are more inclined to pay more attention to profiles with a LinkedIn picture. Also, common sense also means that your picture makes it easy for old and new colleagues to identify you when you send a connection request.
So, if you do not have a LinkedIn photo or need to take one, here are a few tips on how to take the perfect LinkedIn picture that would get you the desired positive attention from employers and recruiters:
1.Pick a good photographer:
This does not need to be a professional photographer, even a friend or family member who can take a good photo will do. No selfies!
2.Pick a good camera:
A professional digital camera is probably the way to go as it will give you multiple photos you can choose from.
3. Pick your clothing:
4. Pick a good location and background:
Avoid a distracting background so that the focus will be on you and not the people or things behind you.
No matter how adorable they are, please leave out family members, friends and pets from the picture. The focus of the picture is you and this should be easily identifiable.
6. Profile photos should preferably be a head shot:
This would give your photo a more professional look than a full length photo showing all the way to your feet.
7. Edit the photo to suit: tweak it as much as possible to get the perfect profile picture.
I hope these tips help you create the perfect profile picture and help you land the perfect job of your dreams. Good Luck!
